Fieberflug - Ernte

Imperceptibly while listening to this tape I've drowned somewhere into irrational state of mind. Exploring it and slowly returning to rationality, I've come up with the idea. This tape, this strange, ritualic, shamanic minimalism is a separate entity, not within jurisdiction of a man. This album is not a musical record. It's some kind of primal process that developed into such form. That sounds perhaps like some kind of gibberish, but this idea crystallized after Nth listening to the record and failed attempts to convince myself otherwise. Fieberflug is a side project of a person who, between a number of projects, is also the one responsible for power electronics/noise unit Flutwacht. Fieberflug takes another path. Minimalistic, oppressive and dark drone/ambient with strange ritualistic daps that strengthens the hypnotism of the album. This cassette drowns even deeper than in a way similar Nordic ambient elite - Northaunt, Svartsinn, Kammerheit etc. There are places where it seems that changes in sounds are summoned by spontaneous vibrations and not by the touch of human. Truth to say, there are places in this tape that gently pulls your meditating senses towards reality out of dark and dense presentiment of disaster, but this is rare. I mean such places as e.g. whispering voice insert in one of the tracks. In fact if there would be no voice, it'd be good for me too. Even better perhaps. It gives quite different color for the song and in the whole perspective of the album, slightly changes monolithic integrity of songs. But, as I've mentioned, that's neither good, nor bad. Everything else in this tape - pale landscape of fields, bitten by early winter. Towards all directions the only lost and living being is you. Yes, after spinning the tape countless times it still seems that the record is somewhat overman. It was quite a long time ago since I've sank with a record so deeply, but statics, monotony and bleakness is that wonderful trio that makes records interesting. When impossible-to-explain depth is added, then the result is somewhat hardly describable. Very interesting record and I'll put it on more when all leaves will fall down from the trees. And I'll leave it to play for the whole winter. Highly recommended.
