MZ.412 - Burning the Temple of God

I remember a decade or so ago, when I was involved more into communicating with people related to metal or so called metalheads, and when the chat was leaning more towards "electronics" there were two main names mentioned with honor - Brighter Death Now and MZ.412. This is not the first CD of the latter that I'm reviewing. It has been rereleased in Cold Spring label. This time it's perhaps the most famous album that got black metal and industrial music closer. It's been released originally via Cold Meat Industry in the middle of nineties. Though more than 15 years has passed already and burning church has been exchanged for allegedly more solid black digipack, but it's still very pleasant to hear these distorted rhythms, black metal passages and songs of ritualistic Satanism. I won't say anything new about remastered and corrected sound - yes, the album sounds really great, fresh and clear. And it's pleasant to listen to the material again - not too overloaded synth loops, bunch of weird samples and growing hate, so clear to notice in the bigger part of earlier works of Nordvargr. Though I've never been a huge fan of his black metal experiments (truth is I could barely stand them), but "Feasting On Khristian Blood" in this album sounds quite well. Apart from all the classical songs, there is one additional song that has not been made to public before (how could you do a rerelease without extras, heh?). Untitled fits the whole atmosphere perfectly and I couldn't even say without looking to the track list that it wasn't in the original release. Screaming under the huge amounts of reverb, synth and a piece of acoustic hell. Overall it's a truly nice album. I think it's been listened to by generations of metalheads, industrialists, Satanists and other weird people. And I guess it will remain one of the fundamental albums for the future generations. If the current music scene won't throw out anything too interesting, in several years I guess we'll have one more rerelease and then one more and one more...
